My understanding of Equi-potential bonding is that all metal objects within 1.5 metres of your pool water need to be joined to the buildings main earth system. This includes reinforcing steel, both sides of a gate in a metal pool fence, metal grab rails and even the metal supports of a class fence. The jist of this is that all electrical supplies are tied to earth and the return path to the power station is through the earth beneath us. At any point all metal needs to be joined/grounded as the potential above earth may vary causing low voltage/high current that effects people, even causing heart attacks and death. When double insulated pumps became the norm, EPB became less important, but now we have spa heaters, heatpumps, gas heaters and any equipment that is not double insulated, that are connected to 230volts, i.e. the double insulation maybe breached. This is not about being "earthed", as we have earth leakage sensing circuit breakers for that, it is about making all exposed metal equal by joining everything together.
Very important, mostlly misunderstood and discarded as an over reaction. Please have your electrician or energy supplier check your home and pool for complete equi-potential bonding compliance.

An above ground pool has a sand base, steel wall with metal or composite copings. I'm not talking about modular pools which have concrete base, fabricated walls and a concrete coping. The liners for AG pools come in various thicknesses from 0.24mm(little splashes to 0.5mm for larger pools. There is an overlap in that thinner liners are available for quite large pools, hence you may think it is a good deal! Stick to Heavy duty 0.5mm for best results. Also there are various sources of material. I recommend liners that are provided by a known Australian manufacturer such as Leisure line or sunflow (100% virgin PVC vinyl) for long guaranteed life. You would not want to repeat all the hard work to change a faulty liner. The quality of manufacture is important, as all vinyl welds must be perfect.
Finally a word about size, as pools listed as the same size maybe actually different! Once you try to fit a liner and it is wrong, it may not be returned, as it is now secondhand. PLEASE call Bob 0243690299 with your details to avoid all the dramas. Proper liners come with a 10 year warranty.
Please do not empty your pool if set in the ground until you actually start to change the liner. The further in the ground, the quicker an empty pool will collapse especially if it rains. Avoid costly mistakes, call first, let me help you get it right.

Called off again! now must be registered by 29th April 2016
ANOTHER FARCE? ALL CALLED OFF 'TILL 2015, can't get inspectors as the government red tape makes being an inspector just not worth the effort, or responsibility required
The government had no infrastructure to handle the inspections, maybe the whole thing was just a political something!
Because 45,000 pool owners tried to register on the last day, the whole thing has been extended. Just relax and do it by the 19th Nov, no worries. About 200,000 have registered so far! Your local council has records of all the pools that were submitted, the problem is all the pools installed without council authority. Many small kit pools are sold by retail shops, the government needs to know about these too! If something bad happens in or around an unapproved pool the person or persons responsible could suffer loss of personal liberty and financial loss. What if something bad happens to your own family? I don't know about you, but for me it would be unbearable. Remember to do the "5" and keep the kids safe. Give Bob a call on 0243690299 if you have a question. The rules vary state to state but all pools in Australia will need to be registered eventually. This includes all pools and spas more than 300 mm deep!
